This is a planning permission decision notice Ref 74/D/230 dated 10 September 1974 granted to Squadron Leader Tom James for "Change of use - agricultural store to agricultural dwelling at Rudchester Farm, Heddon-on-the-Wall".
It is not stated which building(s) this permission refers to - it could have been the Farmhouse, Farm Cottage or Stable Cottage. A later "Details of change" document (74/D/230b 1977 Planning Permission) completed in 1977, states that "The windows on the front elevation shall be modified in accordance with a plan to be submitted to and approved by the Local Planning Authority before development commences."
Conditions
2. (i) Detailed plans and drawings with respect to the matters reserved for approval shall be submitted to the local authority within 3 years from the date of this planning Permission
2. (ii) The development to which the permission relates must be begun not later than whichever is later of the following dates:
(a) the expiration of 5 years from the date of the grant of outline planning permission
(b) the expiration of 2 years from the final approval of the reserved matters or in the case of approval on different dates, the final approval of the last such matter to be approved.
To ensure that the development is commenced within a reasonable period of time from the date of this permission.
3. The occupation of the dwelling shall be limited to a person employed, or last employed, locally in agriculture as defined in section 290 of the Town and Country Planning Act, 1971, or in forestry, or a dependent of such a person residing with him (but including a widow or widower of such a person).
The dwelling is required in the interests of agriculture.
