This is a planning permission decision notice Ref 83/D/48A dated 13th February 1986 granted to Squadron Leader Tom James for "renewal of temporary permission for tipping of builders material to infill quarry on 0.55 hectares of land at Rudchester Manor Quarry, Heddon, as amended plan dated 27th January 1986".
Again, it seems extraordinary that this permission was first granted (for 2-years) and then extended 3-years later, given the site's location adjacent to the scheduled monument 1017533 of "Rudchester Roman fort, associated civil setelment and a section of Hadrian's Wall and vallum from the A69 to the March Burn in Mile Castle 13", The original conditions are restated (a valid waste disposal licence, layers not exceding 2.5m, having regard to the final proposed contours of the site, cessation of tipping when 1m below the final anticipated levels, a scheme for landscaping and tree planting with maintainence and replacing of trees a necessary of 5-years, no burning at any time) but these do not appear to have been followed.
