The document is typed and written on a single folded sheet of parchment 532 x 404mm, dated 9th October 1952.
It records the transfer of the Mortgage of £3000 "dated the eleventh day of August One thousand nine hundred and five" from Sir Edward Pius Arthur Riddell CMG, DSO of Anick House, Hexham in the county of Northumberland, a Brigadier General in His Majesty's Army" and "Ethelreda Ellison of 40 Wildcroft Manor, Putney in the County of London, widow".
There is then a list of deaths, relevant to the mortgage and its various trensfers:
Charles Liddell died on 9th July 1922 at Warwick Hall near Carlisle in the county of Cumberland
John Liddell died on 28th December 1930 at Sherfield on Loddon in the county of Southampton
Cuthbert David Giffard Riddell died on 16th October 1937 at Chollerton in the county of Northumberland
Vincent Thompson died on 9th June 1947 in Newcastle upon Tyne
The transfer was signed by Sir Edward Pius Arthur Riddell and witnessed by Edward Dooley dated 21st September 1952 (18 days before the document is dated).
