The back garden is part of the courtyard on the West side of Rudchester Manor. It is bounded by the Front Garden, Stable Cottage, farm buildings, the Bothy and the Drive.

We fenced the back garden and layed the stone paths in 2010 when the building work was completed. Part of the fence was blown down in storm Arwen on 26-27 November 2021 and replaced without the section in front of the utility room in 2022.

We built raised beds in 2011 for rasberries around the edge, with vengtables and herbs in the other beds. We found what appear to be short paths and a bore hole.

We planted a Monkry Puzzle in the stone circle in the Back Garden in 2011. It has grown very well, although it was damaged in Storm Arwen, it appears to have recovered well and is now about 6m high.

We built a "Rhino" greenhouse in a similar place to the previous one in March 2015. It is in daily use and has proved very reliable.

We are planning to open up the Back Garden to give more space for raised beds in 2024-5.
